Hike for Haiti 2017
This was the third annual hike for Haiti, and so far the greatest we have seen.
At 9:00 on May 20, 2017. About 40 participants gathered in Billy Goat trail to trek through the jagged rocks that separate Maryland and Virginia. These brave adventurers were hiking for one reason: to support Haiti. The great thing about it is that so many people with the same interests join together and learn more about the cause.
"Out of all the fundraisers Tree Angels has every year, this is by far the best. Many challenge themselves to hike, even if they never did before. I think this put the fun in fundraising," says Jasmine, a member of the Tree Angels since the start.
The funds that we receive go to tree planting, education and wellness programs and so much more. The hiking represents the long, daily walks some Haitians must do to travel from the markets and back.
The hike was not only a great way to support a great cause, but also a highly beneficial way to connect with the Tree Angels community.
Remember your support goes a long way. We hope to see you hiking next year.
